Jean de Gastines Architecte

In 1988, three years after its founding, the Jean de Gastines firm won an international competition for the design and construction of wine cellars in Pauillac, at Château Pichon Longueville. This marked the beginning of a specialization that would lead the firm to complete numerous winery projects, mainly in southwestern France. All these projects are set within an exceptional natural environment, such as the Vergelegen wine cellar located near the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.

Spa architecture is a second specialty of the firm. Projects such as the renovation at Bains-les-Bains in the Vosges or Cambo-les-Bains in the Basque Country reflect a study of the issues specific to renovating buildings steeped in history, as well as those linked to integrating an architecture of coexistence between complex technical and functional requirements.
