L’Observatoire – CAUE Île-de-France

Initiated by the Union Régionale des CAUE d’Île-de-France, the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles d’Île-de-France, and the Direction de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine at the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Observatoire Régional de la Qualité Architecturale presents « Constructions, an annotated collection of housing in Île-de-France, » the first stop of a traveling exhibition presenting excerpts from two years of critical analysis. The question at the heart of this partnership : what criteria make for lasting architecture ?

Heirs to a body of reference architecture that the exhibition echoes, eighteen projects are presented to the visitor. Running through them all is a constructive relationship between client and architect, a technical mastery of the building, and an enhancement of spaces for future residents.

An accompanying catalogue records all the projects catalogued by the observatory since 2006.
