GRAAM Architecture produces ambitious and, most importantly, virtuous construction projects centered round wood. ​“The right material in the right place” is a motto that encapsulates the firm’s philosophy. From convertible parking garages to apartment buildings and office complexes, GRAAM designs all types of projects while taking an eclectic, multidisciplinary approach to building with wood.

The studio has won numerous prizes for its work, including a Prix Perspective, a BIM d’Or in its category, a jury prize at the Architizer A+Awards, and a WAN Award. It was also shortlisted for a Dezeen Award for its new headquarters for Caisse d’Epargne in Dijon.
2022 was GRAAM Architecture’s 20th anniversary — two decades of experimenting with construction systems and acquiring expertise with this material. An active member of AdivBois, GRAAM has also designed an ​“all wood” beam-and-joist flooring system, now recommended under France’s new acoustic insulation standards. Moreover, GRAAM works with carpenters and the timber industry to further improve construction methods and develop new ways of distributing construction elements . This constant dialogue with the world of wood, combined with full-scale tests, has enabled GRAAM to advance the state of the art to meet the requirements of multi-storey residential buildings, notably in terms of thermal and acoustic insulation.
