GNWA – Gonzalo Neri & Weck Architekten
Structures de la contingence
GNWA, an office founded in Zurich in 2015 by Cristina Gonzalo, Marco Neri, and Markus Weck, seeks new forms of expression, contemporary archetypes that are both resilient and resistant. These figures embrace the complexity and uncertainty of our unstable reality without compromising the fundamental principles of architecture.
Structures of contingency presents the office’s journey over the past decade, showcasing through images, models, and other working tools the coexistence of conceptual intentions with new research addressing contemporary urgencies. The exhibition reflects an introspective process, revealing the analytical approach applied to each project, whether built or competitions, to capture its essence. The result is a juxtaposition of archaic structures that reveal the core elements of architecture, their constructive logic, and intrinsic order, alongside hyperrealistic images and photographs that convey signs and events, illustrating how present-day needs are integrated into these resilient structures.
