Staufer & Hasler Architekten Frauenfeld, Suisse
Soin – Œuvre – Impact : À l’exemple de l’Hôpital cantonal des Grisons, Coire – Suisse
In 1994, the architectural practice Staufer & Hasler Architekten was established by Astrid Staufer and Thomas Hasler. Over the decades that followed, the firm realized a wide range of projects and grew to a team of more than sixty collaborators.
What is particularly noteworthy is the breadth of building types and scales addressed by the practice. Its portfolio includes public buildings for education, administration, healthcare, sports, and culture, as well as residential developments. Their work extends across the entire process, from urban planning to the completion of construction.
Staufer & Hasler Architekten has deliberately chosen to concentrate its practice within Switzerland, allowing the firm to supervise projects comprehensively through a profound understanding of their context and through close collaboration with local craftsmanship. Cost planning and construction management often remain under the direct responsibility of the architects. The practice is further enriched by an ongoing exchange with teaching and research at the international level.
The exhibition is dedicated to the Cantonal Hospital of Graubunden. The making of a hospital does not arise from a single idea, but from the convergence of multiple forms of expertise, disciplines, and decisions. It invites visitors to explore the various stages of the hospital’s design and construction, while emphasizing the care and precision required to bring a project of such complexity and scale to completion.
