Architecture-Studio   Paris

This exhibition is devoted to the design method of the firm Architecture Studio, through an emblematic project: the European Parliament in Strasbourg, inaugurated in November 1999.

For this exhibition, the firm presents original drawings, heterogeneous in style but representative of each stage of the project: they express the ​“substance” and the ​“manner” of their work: ​“Tempos,” or preparatory drawings; ​“Tracé rouge” (“Red Line”), or radiographic tracings; and summary plans.

These drawings reflect the architecture more than the architect, who is only one of its actors. On one side, transparent or opaque papers drawn by hand; on the other, computer ​“printouts.” In between lies the work of Architecture Studio, entirely a matter of tensions.
