At the scale of the territory, they design large urban and landscape development plans and are tasked with (re)thinking city gateways, highway margins and rest areas, road intersections, and railway embankments. At the scale of the city, they are called upon to design parks and gardens, squares, plazas, courtyards, terraces — landscape architects are also called on for questions as vast as the transformation of large agricultural spaces, forest planting, and ecology.

For this exhibition, the landscape architects of AGENCE TER have chosen to present works in which water is both a « source » and a generative constraint of the project.

At different scales, water lies at the heart of the project’s concerns, as in the cooling garden of Square Raoul Nordling in Paris, the sprinkler-luminaires of the Jardin des Acacias in Nanterre, the invisible waters of the Landesgartenschau in Bad Oeynhausen near Hanover, the stratified garden of the Fondation Jeantet in Geneva, the floodable gardens of the Lycée Philippe Lamour in Nîmes, the floating garden of Canary Wharf in London, or the Île de Cayenne in French Guiana.
