Yves Brunier   Paris

Exhibition presented on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the death of the young landscape architect Yves Brunier, produced and shown in 1996 by arc en rêve centre d’architecture in Bordeaux.

Brunier’s body of work, despite its youth and brevity — barely five years of intense professional activity — continues to arouse interest because it contributed to a growing awareness of landscape issues. Yves Brunier invites us to take a new and singular look at space, beyond the strict bounds of his discipline.

His work, combining extremely powerful visual effects with a completely new approach to landscape, revealed an exceptional talent. He drew his very great conceptual freedom both from a rigorous critical attitude and from a particular attentiveness to individuals, places and things.

During his professional years, in partnership with Isabelle Auricoste, he formed highly productive collaborations, in particular with Rem Koolhaas, Jean Nouvel, Willem Jan Neutelings and Franck Roodbeen.
