The projects of Helmut Dietrich and Much Untertrifaller are always in dialogue with their context and develop out of their environment and the brief at hand. As a result, each work is different and unique, and makes sense only in the place where it is built. Each new project thus forms, together with the existing built fabric, a new and coherent whole.

The firm always works with an eye to both the current and future urban situation. Its projects are thus « sustainable » at both the urban and constructive levels : the use of environmentally responsible materials and energy efficiency have always been important factors in Dietrich Untertrifaller’s work. The firm has completed projects in Austria and Switzerland across a range of fields, including education, culture, tourism and single-family housing.

The first office was established in 1994 in Bregenz, in Vorarlberg, followed by the Vienna office in 2004 and the St. Gallen office in Switzerland in 2005.
