Hérault Arnod Architectes   Grenoble

From the founding of their firm in 1990, Isabel Hérault and Yves Arnod distinguished themselves on the French architectural scene through a freedom of design perceptible across more than twenty completed projects.

This first exhibition, made up of plans, original sketches, models and photographs, presents the emblematic project of the Grenoble ice rink ; the Grenoble mixed-use building, with its politically minded architectural approach combining social mix (social and market-rate housing) and functional mix (shops and public parking on upper floors); and the Cultural and Sports Complex at Les 2 Alpes, whose siting and construction methods echo the natural setting of the Mont de Lans.

The flagship work in this exhibition is the project for the Musée Parc Archéologique du Lac de Paladru, completed in 2005.

In keeping with this fusional architecture, in osmosis with the natural environment, each project is conceived from the specificity of its own program. This program is generally broken down into several distinct entities, often providing the occasion for the use of different materials or colors.
