Born between 1974 and 1980, the « 2 3 4 » spirit took shape over the following two decades within the practices of three architecture studios. The 2 3 4 structure, initiated by Olivier Arène, Pierre Bolze, Christine Edeikins, Jean Mas, Simon Rodriguez-Pagès and François Roux, took its definitive form in 2005, alongside a subsidiary directed by Arnaud Devillers, faubourg 2 3 4, devoted to urban planning.

Interiority, its diffusion beyond the walls of buildings, and its capacity to draw on the forces of the site are the foundations of every project and the subject of ongoing research. To this approach, 2 3 4 adds time as a fundamental value. Through this « essentialist » vision of architecture, 2 3 4 asserts that only what carries meaning can produce emotion.

The wish to serve as a place of reflection led the practice to create a seminar bringing together project architects : Jean-François Patte, Éric Puzenat, Laure Mériaud, Reda Mazouz and Franck Tillequin.

Their highly diverse output ranges from the extension of the Faculté de Tours to the renovation of the Tour Gan at Paris La Défense.
