Détour : Architecture et design le long de 18 routes touristiques norvégiennes
Third installment in the series devoted to Norwegian architecture, presented within the framework of the International Polar Year. This exhibition is devoted to architectural and design interventions along Norway’s scenic tourist routes.
These astonishing architectural projects, small in scale yet widely noticed, take the form of viewpoints, picnic areas, rest stops and service areas, characterized by the boldness of their concept and the remarkable quality of their execution. The aim is to offer something extra to motorized tourists and other travelers who come to discover the beauty of the Norwegian landscape. These installations were designed by Norwegian and foreign architects, landscape architects and designers.
Significant resources have been devoted to developing innovative solutions and to carrying out high-quality construction projects. These installations have already gained international recognition within the world of architecture.
The scenography references the early days of tourism and its propensity for grandiose, almost mystical views.
