Jean-Paul Viguier Architecte Paris
Maquettes froides – Cool Models
This exhibition of part of Jean-Paul Viguier’s work rests on the exercise of speech, of understanding. Through mysterious, « jewel-like » models, enclosed in a sealed black case, one comes to understand the pact, the idea, the game and the seduction of the project. The architect offers the client a minimum, while setting the maximum expression of his idea. It is a foundation below which discussion cannot go. If the game works, if the client is won over, then the pitfall of misunderstanding is avoided. These small « conceptual » models undoubtedly transcribe the architect’s recurring, and sometimes unconscious, convictions. The aim of this exhibition is to decode the work, the encounter, and the time of architecture. It is an invitation to discover the black box.
